Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret industry and customer specifications, requirements and trends related to automotive wire
- Maintain company technical information and instructions to reflect industry requirements and best practices
- Evaluate and interpret technical information provided by the customer/supplier in support of design engineering, testing, manufacturing, and purchasing decisions
- Participate as SME (subject matter expert) and advisor in product design and manufacturing process reviews
- Follow, analyze, manage, and support efforts related to regional technology issues (wire, cover, joining technique)
- Review of competitors solutions, investigating the research activity of other manufacturing companies, research institutes and universities
- Work with the wider engineering community to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels including other companies, universities, and research institutes
- Establish international collaborations and partnerships among experts globally
- Research emerging systems and methodologies and relate it with impacts into the company business processes recognizing as well future needs and developments
- Effectively communicate complex technical subjects and issues to technical and non-technical audiences to support understanding, discussion and decision making
- Provide technical expertise and work closely with other engineers, and be able to apply engineering knowledge and principles to devise solutions to problems
- Authoring and publishing of technical specifications and requirements for EEEDS product design, processing, and product manufacturing
- Lead or support other projects, tasks, and/or duties as assigned by leadership
- Support training and education of internal staff by establishing learning contents and creation of learning materials on automotive wire, cover products and joining techniques
Candidate’s Profile:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in specific technical field of practice as relates to automotive engineering, design, or product development
- Wire Harness design knowledge is preferred as well as other areas of Vehicle Program Support
- Review, revise and update existing company technical information and instructions
- Effectively communicate complex technical subjects and issues to technical and non-technical audiences
- Thorough understanding of area of technical expertise applied to context of customer design and performance requirements
