POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Sr. Active Directory Engineer provides support and implementation services for Microsoft Active Directory and Windows-based systems across the enterprise, including directory and identity management solutions. Core technology duties also include creation and management, global system security and policy configuration, top-level support for enterprise-wide initiatives, and assisting in RCA (Root Cause Analysis)

This role requires an in-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), Windows Server, Windows security, AD Proxy, Azure AD/Entra ID, and related technologies.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES

 

•   Represent enterprise-level Active Directory for global initiatives and follow the initiatives through to implementation via collaboration with project and support teams.

•   Identify opportunities to innovate, extend, and enhance service delivery where possible

•   Own root cause analysis and problem management for enterprise Active Directory landscape

•   Serve as an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provide guidance and direction in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production-, application- and system-related problems.

•   Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.

•   Follow the change management process for any improvement or implementation change requests

•   Install, configure, and maintain Active Directory and third-party utilities supporting Active Directory within company operational guidelines

•   Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps

•   Improve existing processes through solutions to recurring problems and enhancements to existing solutions and documentation

•   Provide training as required

•   Participate in post-implementation reviews

•   Participate on department project teams and forums

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Degree Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or computer-related discipline, or related experience (10+ years), in lieu of a degree.

Certification Requirements:

Microsoft and Azure certifications are a plus

Previous Experience:

 

Required: 10+ years of experience in IT work in an Enterprise Active Directory infrastructure environment

Preferred: 15+ years of experience in IT work in a global information technology infrastructure environment

Travel Requirements:

Local, regional, national, and international

Language:

Proficiency in English required; Spanish a plus

Application/Software:

Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID, M365, Windows Server, and Microsoft Suite

On Call Requirements:

As required

Physical Requirements:

Primarily sedentary / office position
