POSITION SUMMARY

Supervisor of the costing functions and oversees the work output of the cost estimators.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise Team

• Ensure that team structure and staffing levels are in line with business requirements
• Hire and work with team to improve their skills and competencies, using feedback, coaching, motivation, and mentoring techniques
• Implement associate development tools, including objective setting and the performance review process
• Ensure training needs are identified and met
• Ensure the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of effective, efficient, and common processes, procedures, and methodologies
• Ensure data is collected, analyzed and corrective actions implemented for team metrics
• Provide regular communication to the team on administrative issues and policies
• Assist HR with resolution of compliance, safety, integrity concerns, or grievances within team
• Support long-range and short-term group forecasts, goals, objectives, and priorities
• Prepare and maintain updated job descriptions ensuring functions are aligned with processes and procedures
• Resolve customer and internal issues to facilitate implementation of group objectives and achieve customer satisfaction

Costing Tool

• Coordinate cost model validation, review outputs and challenge as necessary
• Implement, improve, and maintain labor time standards for customers
• Audit the accuracy of the applicable costing/pricing tool
• Support tool implementation, enhancements, or replacements
• Ensure quote standards and cost masters for factory cost forecasts are properly set up each semester
• Ensure quote standards and price masters for customer quotations are properly set up based on customer criteria

Program Support

• Lead and coordinate material prices and labor minutes for customer negotiations and support as necessary
• Attend and support key internal/external project meetings

Costing

• Manage cost estimating teamwork load
• Facilitate support of BOM reconciliation activity
• Participate in new RFQ kick-off meetings and support the commercial review of the quote package
• Coordinate cost estimating needs for quoting activities with pertinent functional groups
• Challenge existing and developing new methods/interfaces to ensure a consistent, efficient and accurate cost estimating process
• Calculate wire harness tooling as required
• Manage price and cost accuracy in the costing tool
• Write and maintain work instructions and process flows for the system level procedures related to the costing / pricing department functions.
• Investigate and resolve quote inquiries from functional groups
