POSITION SUMMARY
Transportation Customs Buyer
The buyer is a specialist and regional subject matter expert in one or more areas as of 1. Services, 2. Knowledge of Customs and transportation/logistics commodity, 3. Customs Market, 4. Knowledge on Sub-contracting laws and regulations, 5. Knowledge on sourcing for different Customs Agents for different Countries (CAN, US, MX, Central America). This position requires to work with all Border and Customs operations in YNCA, more than 20 points of entry, and all Transportation modes operations, BU and Finance team to identify the best of the best suppliers: service, quality and cost for Yazaki. The ultimate purpose for this position is to improve cost and stability in all YNCA border operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a very high level of skill and ownership for the relevant subject
- Prepare procure strategies by points of entry or transportation modes: road freight, sea, air
- Provide expertise to identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality, and service.
- Researching, selecting, and purchasing Competitive Customs Agents Services
- Building relationships with suppliers and negotiating with them for the best prices
- Lead improvement activities and workshops
- Communicate globally (Spanish/English): verbal, written and in person (present)
- Work independently
- Processing requisitions and updating management on the status of orders
- Support the identification of new supplier, services, and integration.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Degree Requirements: |
BS in International Relations, Foreign Trade Studies, Engineering (ME, EE, IE), or related field to be considered. |

Previous Experience: |
3+ years’ experience in Customs/Logistics and Purchasing especially Indirect |

Travel Requirements: |
Must be willing to travel within in MX, US, or other countries as required. |
