Position Summary

Senior Programmer is a roll with Computer Science background and deep knowledge on the IT Solution for a specific Business Process, so he is responsible to participate on projects, assess the Business Needs and provide technical guidance and propose system solutions ensuring they meet the customer needs and are aligned to the IT Strategic Landscape.

Additionally, the IT Project Expert is providing production support when there are system issues reported by the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze needs from internal and external business partners (including suppliers and OEM customers) and define appropriate software applications and technology to meet business requirements and IT strategies
• Define project plan and strategies to follow to give an application solution based on business requirements.
• Create functional and technical specifications, diagrams and models to guide custom software development.
• Participate on software construction, configuration and testing.
• Provide system documentation and initial training (train of trainer), as needed
• Provide Production Support in case of Issues
• Manages releases for future upgrades and maintenance and ensures software works properly afterwards
• Research new technology and interacts with software vendors for assistance, knowledge sharing, and driving requirements representing Yazaki interest 

Specific Area of Discipline Responsibilities

This position is focused on the functional support of MES (Manufacturing Execution System), SAP and device integration in Manufacturing areas.  This position will interact with all levels of the company to support the implementation of systems solutions.

• Act as a consultant to the business and operational governance where business decisions are impacted by system requirements or abilities.
• Participate in super-user training.
• Configure the application where required.
• Document the system and how it interacts with the business process
• Supports implementation into productive environment of technological solutions and testing.
• Participate in coordination meetings as required
• Responsible for collaborating with key process owners to ensure Application process outputs and data interfaces are robust and accurate
• Drives standardization globally within area of responsibility.
