What we are looking for:

Yazaki is looking for a motivated Strategic Business Partnership & Business Analytics Intern to join our Strategic Partnership Group (SPG) team in Palo Alto, CA.  The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, results-oriented environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization. This internship runs full-time from May 11, 2026 to August 15, 2026. As a Summer Intern on the Strategic Partnership Group (SPG) team, you will support technology scouting, strategic analysis, and financial assessment initiatives. This role offers hands-on exposure to startup evaluation, internal platform optimization, and emerging business models.

 

What you will be doing:

Project Work:

• Manage and optimize the startup database or tech scouting dashboard or/and,

• Support the tech scouting team in conducting startup due diligence or/and,

• Update the financial status of the prefab business. Collaborate with the prefab CEO to provide guidance on financial risks and opportunities.

Project & Analytical Support

  • Manage and optimize the startup database and/or tech scouting dashboards, ensuring accurate tracking of startup classifications, review status, and pipeline progress.
  • Support the Tech Scouting team with startup due diligence activities, including organizing materials, tracking progress, and helping improve due diligence workflows within Yazaki platforms.
  • Assist with updating the financial business plan for the PreFab home wiring business, working closely with the PreFab CEO and project team to assess financial assumptions, risks, and opportunities.

Data, Insights & Optimization

  • Track and maintain information on 10+ startups reviewed by the Tech Scouting team.
  • Propose improvements to dashboard structures, pipeline tracking methods, and reporting tools based on focus areas and collaboration models.
  • Contribute to financial analysis by helping assess key performance indicators such as EBIT, ROI, operating expense burn rate, and funding requirements.

What you will bring to the table:

  • Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
  • Relevant Background: Degree/experience related to the position such as Business Economics or Corporate management.
  • Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Commitment: Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May 11, 2026, and August 14, 2026
  • Technical Skills: Market & Competitive Analysis Skills, Technology Understanding, Financial Analysis & Valuation Skills etc.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
