What we are looking for:
Yazaki is looking for a motivated Summer Intern to join our Advanced Engineering team in Plano, TX, El Paso, TX, or remote. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, results-oriented environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization. This internship runs full-time from May 12, 2025, to August 15, 2025.
What you will be doing:
- Project Work:
- Generation of harness drawings and supporting documents based on key inputs
- Inputs: Harness to/from coordinates, physical constraints, circuit details
- Outputs: Harness drawing, single line diagram, assembly drawing
- Connections between engineering outputs and manufacturing equipment
- Generation of wire harness test script for automatic harness tester
- Wire cutting, stripping, and labeling
- Generation of harness drawings and supporting documents based on key inputs
- Success Metrics:
- Documented workflow
- All code reviewed and released
- Validated and implemented manufacturing automations
- Collaboration: Work closely with Advanced Engineering Electrical, Mechanical, and Software Engineers, external-facing Project Managers, and Manufacturing staff
What you will bring to the table:
- Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
- Relevant Background: Degree/experience related to the position (e.g., ECE, EE, CS).
- Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Commitment: Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May 12, 2025, and August 15, 2025
- Technical Skills: Python, electrical schematic, networking
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
