POSITION SUMMARY |
The Senior Manager, reporting to the Director of Transportation, will lead the Supply Chain and Logistics Strategy Team. The primary responsibilities of the position include managing the logistics route design and implementation within different countries, with a heavy focus on the USA, Mexico, and Central American markets. Key responsibilities include hiring, training, and managing resources, business case analysis and implementation, variance analysis, logistics strategy development, short-term transportation forecasting, annual logistics budgetary responsibility, and managing the transportation management system (TMS). This position requires cross-functional collaboration with multiple groups within Yazaki. Most of the Logistics team and operations are within Mexico, with the ideal candidate being someone experienced with leading a remote team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Interviews, hires, promotes and trains employees
- Creates, reviews, implements, and revises work instructions, processes, and procedures as needed
- Manages a group of direct and indirect employees, many of whom are working remotely
- Effectively communicates across multiple functional groups
- Conducts Logistics variance analysis to root cause key variations
- Supports Logistics team on strategic initiatives
- Creates and submits monthly Logistics accruals reports for Finance
- Develops annual Logistics/Transportation budget
- Works with the Finance team on monthly Rolling Forecast submission
- Accountable for identifying and implementing annual Logistics cost savings opportunities
- Creates Logistics route and carrier business cases seeing them through implementation
- Accountable for overall TMS functionality in conjunction with IT support, including route creation, problem solving, enhancements, and training.

Degree Requirements: |
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field |
Certification Requirements: |
TMS experience preferred |
Previous Experience:
|
5 years of experience in international logistics / supply chain with strong financial background |

Willingness to travel as necessary – 10-20% domestic and international travel |

English and Spanish proficiency |
