POSITION SUMMARY
Support the Program Manager in achieving established program targets, deliverables, and overall program objectives. Programs may include multiple products, special projects, parts, customer engineering centers, global product development locations, and various technology suites.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Support & Coordination
- Interact with customers on program-related matters involving Manufacturing, Design, and Quality
- Communicate and coordinate customer-specific requirements with Manufacturing teams
- Maintain working knowledge of customer carlines, Yazaki-supplied parts, and Manufacturing/Quality processes
- Coordinate GPMS task lists with the program team
- Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist in developing and supporting short-term and long-range forecasts, goals, and objectives
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Launch Readiness / Process Sign-Off (PSO)
- Ensure all tasks are completed for launch readiness and PSO requirements
- Coordinate customer visits to manufacturing facilities
- Support Manufacturing with customer requirements
- Assist in resolving and approving follow-up issues presented to customers
Customer Engagement
- Coordinate and lead responses to customer-critical issues
- Review program metrics and customer satisfaction levels on a recurring basis
Program Scope Management
- Coordinate and support program scope changes and approvals
- Report program activities and updates to executive management
Scheduling & Tracking
- Coordinate program schedules and tracking to ensure alignment with scope and customer requirements
- Monitor program timing, milestones, and progress toward goals
- Support critical build phases to ensure successful program delivery
- Prepare and present regular program status reports to executive leadership
Meetings & Documentation
- Schedule and support cross-functional program meetings
- Review meeting minutes to ensure timely task completion
- Maintain and update program tracking systems, including open issues and corrective actions
Issue Management
- Review, assign, and track open issues in the central system
- Monitor issue status between meetings and ensure resolution
- Approve and archive closed issues for continuous improvement
- Analyze issue trends to support process improvements
- Address scope, schedule, and budget impacts related to open issues
Engineering Change Management
- Review and coordinate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
- Support Process Change Requests (PCRs)
- Communicate and align changes with customers, affiliates, and internal teams
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or related field
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Experience
- Required: Minimum 2 years of Program Management or related automotive experience
- Preferred: 4+ years of relevant experience
Travel
- Domestic and international travel required to customer sites, manufacturing plants, and branch locations
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with SAP and BEAMS preferred
Work Requirements
- On-call availability during customer production hours, including overtime and weekends
- Ability to work extended hours across multiple time zones as needed
