To strengthen our Sales team in our head office in Cologne, we are looking for a


Commercial and Technical Account Manager (m/w/d)


You will be the customer interface, lead all commercial discussions to support Yazaki's profitable growth and establish a strong and trustful relationship with the customer. With your technical and sales expertise, you can understand and translate the customer’s requirements towards our engineering team. By means of a target price / cost approach, you can convert customer RFQs into profitable business for Yazaki. You will report on the overall status of customer projects / satisfaction and control EBIT and P&L throughout the lifetime of the project up to and including after-market sales.



Your tasks:


  • Management and coordination of commercial activities related to the customer globally
  • Define sales strategy aimed at sustainable and profitable growth in collaboration with the teams overseas
  • Establishing and organizing sales plans and goals for customer as well as internal organization; defining strategy and tactics for result optimization
  • Monitor market and competitor activities and determine possible introduction of existing and new components at the customer
  • Monitor product life cycle trend, initiating and supporting the timely development of complementary and substitute product lines
  • Translate customer requirements into Yazaki internal business screening documentation Regularly follow up account activities, identify sales opportunities and document them for systematic follow-up (sales projects, business tracking)
  • Process documentation required to book new business and facilitate release of new products at the customer
  • Establish budget for own customer and monitor financial performance; full responsibility for financial results of account
  • Coordinate global operations with all associated Yazaki affiliates to consolidate account budget and performance indicator


Your profile:


  • Successfully completed degree in Engineering or Economics
  • Profound automotive industry experience in sales management and/or product design engineering at OEM or Tier 1/2 supplier
  • Successful track record in generating profitable growth
  • In depth understanding of automotive supply chains with their specific implications for sales & marketing incl. pricing
  • Good knowledge of presentation techniques and capability to explain technical contents to customers
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English (Verbal and Written)
  • Intercultural sensitivity and experience in working in matrix environments
  • Advanced user in Microsoft Office programs
  • Willingness to travel (>50%)
