Position Summary

The Process Design Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of process designers in the development of safe, efficient, and high-quality process solutions. This role ensures that all design activities are executed in alignment with project timelines, quality standards, and customer requirements. The supervisor will play a key role in coordinating cross-functional collaboration, optimizing workflows, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Specific activities:

  • Conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of existing manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Design and implement process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time and improve product quality.
  • Review and approve design outputs to ensure compliance with internal standards and client specifications
  • Collaborate with engineering, production and quality assurance teams to develop and implement standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Utilize design software and tools to create, modify, and validate process layouts and documentation.
  • Monitor and analyze process performance metrics, such as cycle time, yield and scrap rate and develop strategies to meet or exceed targets.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, design standards, and training materials
  • Identify and implement process control measures, including statistical process control (SPC) techniques, to ensure consistent quality and reduce process variation.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Lead process validation activities, including protocol development, execution and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Provide training and guidance to production teams on new processes, procedures and equipment to ensure successful implementation and operation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in process engineering technologies, methodologies and best practices.

Requirements.

  • BS degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechatronics or similar).
  • Experience with process improvement tools and methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S and Value Stream Mapping.
  • More than 6-year experience in Manufacturing/Engineering related areas or in Wire Harness industry.
  • Must be willing to travel in Mexico, Central America (up to 50% of time).
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English).
  • Using 2D/3D Software (i.e. AutoCad, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.), Process Simulation Software.
  • Knowledge of process optimization techniques, process design, lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies and statistical analysis.
