What we are looking for:

 

Yazaki is looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Finance team in El Paso, TX.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization.  This position is hybrid.

 

What you will be doing:

 

  • Month/Quarter/Year End Closing: Ensure accurate financial reporting through system reconciliation, journal entry posting, and analysis for proper accruals. Resolve purchase and sales price discrepancies, prepare income statements, and report accruals to the YII Finance Manager monthly. Generate cost center reports, review with managers, and meet monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines.
  • Forecasting: Support YII in short-term forecasting, including preparing cost center operating expense forecasts and consolidating forecasts for review with YII managers. Assist in the consolidation of monthly rolling forecast updates and prepare direct profit forecasts, factoring in elements like copper price, labor rate changes, customer productivity, potential new business, and value management activity. Additionally, handling logistics and extraordinary expense forecasts, considering factors such as new program launches, balance-outs, and historical trends. Responsible for preparing program direct costs, including labor and other program-specific operating expenses, and updating forecasts as required by management.
  • Commercial: Collaborate with the Sales group to facilitate customer initiatives, including negotiating and implementing new cost models. Conduct detailed analysis at the Program and part level for Direct Profit assessment and implement improvement actions. Analyze and summarize variances in affiliate quotes compared to expected factory cost forecasts, lead efforts to resolve discrepancies. Ensure timely billing of all new customer purchase orders in accordance with GAAP.
  • Cash Flow: Manage YII cashflow, payments to vendors and payments in from customers, and prepare cashflow reporting to YIC.

 

What you will bring to the table:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or closely related field
  • At least 3 years of previous commercial/financial experience, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Travel: Minimal (<5%)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred
  • Ability to resolve issues by applying creative thinking
  • Ability to think and act logically under pressure
  • Ability to resolve issues or propose resolutions to responsible parties
  • Must work independently and collaboratively
