What we are looking for:

 

Yazaki is seeking a Cost Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team in Columbus, OH.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization.  This position is hybrid.

 

What you will be doing:

 

  • Product Costing: Calculate and analyze the Bill of Material cost by component, product cost, project life profitability, and target achievements.
  • Financial Analysis for RFQ: Gather necessary information for profitability and feasibility analysis of RFQs, set target costs and obtain division agreements, collect improvement ideas, conduct risk assessments, and prepare reports for program review meetings.
  • Financial Analysis During Program Development Phase: Update target costing based on design changes and RFQ achievements and maintain a Roadmap tracking sheet to maximize program profitability. Conduct risk assessments considering internal and external factors that may impact project profitability.
  • Financial Analysis After Start of Production: Compare planned KPIs with actual mass production results, analyze what went well and did not go well during the development phase from a cost planning perspective, and follow up and verify Roadmap items implementation.
  • Mass Production Programs Profitability Improvement Activities: Compare and analyze BoM, Labor Rate, and Wire Harness quotes from affiliates, follow up labor rate results month by month, analyze changes in main profitability KPIs, such as Gross Margin, Direct Profit, and EBIT. Track improvements item by item and make sure closure through PDCA. Create “what if” scenarios from financials to support decision-making management.

 

What you will bring to the table:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering or closely related field
  • Two years of global business experience in Automotive or Manufacturing
  • Ability to resolve issues by applying creative thinking
  • Ability to think and act logically under pressure
  • Ability to resolve issues or propose resolutions to responsible parties
  • Must work independently and collaboratively
