As Technical Specialist your aim is to ensure the appropriate and cost-optimized availability of the relevant information systems, applications and processes for the respective area (Infrastructure Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering and Cross-Functional) as well as ongoing monitoring and adaptation. You advise and support management, departments and users in the development, implementation and, if necessary, use of information systems, applications and processes.Applications outside Germany are welcome.
 

 

What you’ll be doing: 

 

  • Responsible for the design, configuration and testing of all A2A interfaces within and outside of the SAP landscape.   
  • Provide support and maintenance of SAP XI/PI landscape 
  • Develop, test and I implement system functionality related to defined business requirements
  • Manage the creation and timely updates of project plans and supporting tools (resource plan, budgets, planning assumptions, milestones and deliverables). 
  • Identify opportunities to use specific functional capability to improve the business processes and operational efficiency 
  • Allocate time, prioritize tasks, and accurately scope tasks and phases of a project
  • Develop end-user and technical documentation as well as gather, analyse, refine and document business requirements
  • Support and enhance solutions, continually looking for opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Resolve Service Request tickets in accordance with agreed upon SLAs
  • Actively acquire knowledge in the assigned area as changes occur, continuously improve in the field and actively promote these ideas
  • Ensure clear communication/ escalation with other colleagues, project / leading managers 
  • Support the 2nd and 3rd level of service operations in the event of incidents and problems
  • If needed, take over the 24/7 on-duty support
  • Tasks that can occur:
    - Service Design: Create blueprint or specification for an IT solution.
    - Service Transition: build new IT solution, coordinate and steer others within area of responsibility 

 

What you’ll bring with you:

 

  • University degree or comparable professional expertise and experience in Business Administration or IT
  • 2-3 years professional experience 
  • ITIL Certificate
  • Strong expertise in Java, XML, XSLT, XSD, ABAP
  • Working understanding of FTP/SFTP/FTPs, HTTP, Web Services / SOAP, MIME, JDBC, PGP
  • Ability to work with Runtime Work Bench, Integration Repository, Integration Directory, Alert Configuration, Integration Engine, SXMB_MONI, SMQ2, SMQ2, IDX5, SXMB_ADMIN, IDoc, BAPI, RFC, ABAP Proxy
  • Ability to work with Eclipse IDE, XML Spy, Filezilla, SOUP UI or PostMan, SQL Server Management Studio, iSeries Operations Navigator
  • Advanced User of SAP PI/PO
  • Knowledge in SAP Integration Suite would be a plus
  • Fluent English (written and spoken), German and/or Spanish nice to have
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% (international, mainly Europe / North Africa / USA + Central America)
