What we are looking for:

 

Yazaki is looking for a Sr. Treasury Specialist to join our Finance team in Canton, MI.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization.  This position is hybrid.

 

What you will be doing:

 

  • Cash Management and Forecasting: Monitor daily cash forecasts by collecting data from U.S. affiliates. Coordinate with affiliates for accurate disbursement amounts and manage bank borrowing/repayment. Maintain loan records and conduct banking procedures, including wire transfers. Assist in cash flow forecasting, update daily inflows/outflows, and participate in cash flow management meetings.
  • Banking and Financial Transactions: Communicate with banks and manage transaction records. Provide banking advice as the Sr. Specialist for Yazaki Americas Group. Monitor and record Guaranty Fees (GF) and conduct Withholding Tax (WHT) payments for YIC affiliates. Administer loan agreements, assist with bank borrowing documentation, and support the YIC Treasurer with budgeting and financial data gathering.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Generate Loan Balance Confirmations monthly. Prepare month-end closing data, including interest calculations, accrued interest, Guaranty Fees, outstanding loans, and time deposits. Support Americas affiliates with cash flow forecasting and assist with fiscal year-end audits by working with internal and external auditors.
  • Corporate Insurance Programs: Assist with insurance renewals, gathering exposure data for various coverages and maintaining policy documents. Update premium allocations post-renewal and recommend process improvements for insurance renewal and data management.
  • Insurance Monitoring and Reporting: Track insurance costs across Americas entities and report to YC. Manage relationships with third-party providers, ensuring alignment with the firm's interests. Maintain accurate insurance policy records.
  • Claim Management: Maintain comprehensive claim files and serve as the liaison for attorneys, management companies, and insurers to investigate potential asset loss incidents.
  • Loss Control: Act on insurer’s recommendations to improve loss experiences for operating companies. Summarize recommendation statuses and maintain loss control reports.

 

What you will bring to the table:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
  • 5+ years of previous experience in treasury and banking
  • Understanding of accounting principles and GAAP is desirable
  • Travel: minimal and as needed.
  • Language skills: Primary English, Spanish preferred, Japanese encouraged
  • Ability to use corporate internet banking procedures to perform banking and funding tasks
  • Solid experience and understanding of banking structures and paperwork to effectively resolve banking issues among US affiliates
  • Excellent communication skills with banks and all levels of associates at the affiliates, coupled with a deep knowledge of banking operations to obtain accurate and timely information for funding, payments, and other departmental tasks
  • Highly organized, task-oriented, and driven by deadlines
  • Self-directed with excellent attention to detail
