What we are looking for:
Yazaki is looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to join our Finance team in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization. This position is hybrid.
What you will be doing:
- Prepare federal, state, international, and local income, sales & use, gross receipts, VAT, and property tax returns including e-filings as required.
- Prepare book-to-tax differences by gathering and analyzing data, drawing accurate conclusions, and creating detailed supporting work papers.
- Prepare quarterly estimated payments and extensions and support the taxable income forecast process, semi-annual and year-end income tax provisions.
- Prepare tax account reconciliations, comparisons of return-to-provision, deferred tax validations, and non-income tax filings such as 1042, FBAR, W-8BENE/W-9, unclaimed property, and all other filings.
- Support federal, state, international, and local audits as needed.
- Maintain tax compliance and reporting calendar to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Contribute to company-wide and departmental process improvement initiatives especially as it relates to the use of technology.
- Collaborate with both internal stakeholders and external consultants.
What you will bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance
- CPA (preferred)
- 3-5 years of corporate tax preparation and research experience with a CPA firm or within a corporate environment
- Ability to resolve complex issues by applying creative thinking and root-cause problem solving
- Ability to think and act logically under pressure
- Ability to resolve issues or propose resolutions to responsible parties
- Must work independently and collaboratively
