Yazaki is looking for a Sr. Specialist to join our Corporate Governance team in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization.
The Kian Project Manager oversees the evaluation and assessment of all KIAN submissions and subsequent approvals. They will be the process owner of all KIANs, including ownership of multiple KIANs simultaneously. The KIAN Project Manager will take inventory of current phase of each KIAN, and what needs to be completed in order to achieve approval. They will partner with Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and plant managers to ensure proper process is followed. The KIAN Project Manager will have strong financial and business acumen, project management, and process improvement skills. They will maintain the documentation of core business systems and processes and keep them updated when changes and innovation occur. Their job is to understand and describe in writing the best way to accomplish KIAN requests.

What you will be doing:
- Analyzes, maintains, and improves organizational performance.
- Uses a variety of skills, including project design, leadership, and management to ensure performance and process development.
- Acts as a process analyst, business strategist, and project supervisor on KIAN processes.
- Has strong understanding of Japanese working culture.
- Analyzes current practices and develops business process improvements.
- Implements changes in workflows, structures, and teams to ensure continuous company performance.
- Oversees MSD SharePoint site and owns implementation and update of necessary documentation.
- Understands the latest management methodologies and embodies top leadership principles and styles.
- Investigates shortfalls, issues, and complaints in current business processes.
- Provides project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on key responsibilities and objectives.
- Actively leads projects and provides individual contributions after key projects have been identified.
- Demonstrates thought leadership through participation or leadership of stakeholder/advisory groups and presentations.
- Consults with leaders and teams across to identify, diagnose, and problem solve organizational development and effectiveness problems and solutions; communicates ideas and opinions to other members of leadership.
- Collaborates with other stakeholders to enhance productivity and staff satisfaction.
- Trains, mentors, and guides team members in new processes.
- Stays up to date with developments in management and process optimization.
- Translates strategies into program/project plans including scope management, stakeholder engagement, and deliverables.
- Displays a sharp eye for identifying weak points in processes and organizational structures.
- Proficient in negotiation, problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Expertise in communication, leadership, and teamwork.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Approval Authority Chart – own, maintain, update Approval Authority Chart based on organization, threshold and process changes – ownership of process document and Approval Authority Chart
- Delegation forms – Delegation forms are submitted for approval delegation requests. This position will review request, complete the Delegation form and submit for approval. Upon approvals, send completed form to requester
What you will bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in business, finance, or related field
- PMI certification preferred
- 5-7+ years related experience
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
- Ability to be on call as required
