What we are looking for:
Yazaki is looking for a Travel Services Specialist to join our Human Resources team in Canton, MI. This person oversees and manages Yazaki's corporate travel program, ensuring travel arrangements are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with company policies and business goals. This role includes managing vendor contracts, monitoring travel expenses, implementing policies, and addressing travel-related issues. The Travel Services Specialist collaborates with the travel management company (TMC) and other vendors to streamline processes, improve employee satisfaction, and identify opportunities for cost savings. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization. This position is hybrid.
What you will be doing:
- Serve as the primary liaison between Yazaki North America and the Travel Management Company (TMC).
- Manage vendor relationships and monitor programs to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Administer and manage travel-related systems (Concur Travel Administer and TMC reporting tools)
- Conduct a monthly Concur Travel training class and trouble shoot any problems associated with the booking tool.
- Ability to manage multiple programs while demonstrating exceptional problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing department to analyze travel volume and expenditures for vendor contract negotiations.
- Identify cost savings opportunities, service enhancements, and initiate process improvements.
- Develop, implement, and communicate travel department policies and procedures.
- Conduct audits and monitor vendor programs to uncover additional cost-saving opportunities.
- Lead the successful implementation of a new travel program for the U.S. and Mexico.
- Provide guidance to the Mexico travel team on travel-related issues, policies, processes, and best practices.
- Reconcile direct billing and departmental invoices to ensure accuracy.
- Audit travel policy compliance and recommend strategies to increase adherence.
- Arrange travel logistics for the Annual Yazaki Summer Camp program and other possible events.
- Maintain and update Travel Page in SharePoint and prepare travel reports for executives and security team.
- Additional duties include Human Resources Support:
- Administer the Employment Service Award program.
- Coordinate the annual ordering of Yazaki calendars and HR labor law posters for US facilities
- Handle HR reporting and prepare employment verifications and letters.
- Unemployment fact finding and provide HRIS back up.
What you will bring to the table:
- Travel School degree, Associates degree, or equivalent experience
- Travel Agent training program certification or equivalent experience preferred
- 5+ years of Corporate Travel Management
- Experience with Concur Travel Administration and Travel Program Management
