What we are looking for:
Yazaki is looking for a Purchasing Specialist/Process Lead (Data Management) to join our Purchasing team in Canton, MI. This person will act as an in-house consultant to improve the way Yazaki does business. They will leverage Internal Audit teams, IT solutions, and process improvements, as well as provide training, support, and direction for all Purchasing departments. They will interact with internal and external customers as it relates to Purchasing business processes, SharePoint process storage and management, procedures and documentation, training coordination, BOS reporting, and metrics. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization. This position is hybrid.
What you will be doing:
- Understand and improve Yazaki and Global Purchasing business processes
- Communicate with business owners and learn about processes and issues
- Review 100% of Direct Purchasing processes annually for compliance and adherence
- Align all stake holders on process improvements/reviews, include business requirements and engage Data Management projects when needed to continuously improve business processes
- Bring the improved processes back into the business community by means of coordinate training and provide support
- Manage Data Management projects in close co-operation with management.
- Gather business requirements and agree on objectives
- Develop plan to achieve objectives at a given due date
- Perform required tasks or delegate them inside and outside the data management team
- Track progress by KPIs and milestones
- Understand and support the general procurement process where it interacts with the Purchasing processes
- Support training of GPDB user accounts, locally and globally as required
- Understand and support GPDB and its interfaces with organizational applications
- e.g. SAP, BEAMS, GCPCS
- Purchasing Process development and improvements
- Train users on organizational process development methodology and documentation requirements
- Work with MSD owner to initiate process reviews or request new process document numbers
- Create and Prioritize scheduled document review
- Facilitate continuous improvement of existing processes and creation of new processes
- Job descriptions, procedures, forms
- Ensure alignment with organizational requirements
- Earn certification for Internal Auditing to support Yazaki reviews
- Support recurring Purchasing processes
- Generate and publish regular data reports used by the organization
- E.g. eRFQ Timing, Interface Errors, Spend data, receipts
- Administer and publish DM controlled Purchasing tools
- Supplier Scorecard
- Supplier Change Process (SCR)
What you will bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 2+ years of previous experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Travel: up to 5%
- Previous experience in corporate automotive environment or purchasing preferred
- Ability to work in complex project organization and to understand Purchasing and Program goals and tasks in global & local perspective
- Understanding of automotive market (2nd tier suppliers, OEMs, etc.)
- Previous costing tool experience, GPDB, ASL/MPF, Power BI tool preferred
