What we are looking for:

 

Yazaki is looking for a Senior IT Java Developer to join our IT Development team in Canton, MI.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization.  Hybrid work model is available.

 

What you will be doing:

 

  • Gathering application requirements: Building application specification documents, creating flow charts, designing application architecture and implementing modernized application design and testing features before release
  • Analyzing new requirements: Analyzing and assessing the business needs of the internal client to find the best solution
  • Supporting Incidents: Providing hands-on experience for support, reviewing and maintaining already developed applications
  • Keeping applications up to date: Ensuring that our applications are secure and up-to-date, monitoring the performance of applications until stabilization
  • Developing applications: Executing tasks throughout the software development life cycle, writing well-designed, efficient code, conducting code reviews, and refactoring code
  • Keeping applications up to date: Ensuring that our applications are secure and up-to-date.
  • Providing technical support: Offering technical assistance to junior developers, reviewing, testing, and debugging team members' code
  • Scheduling product releases: Coordinating product releases with internal teams
  • Following scrum methodology: Adhering to and promoting scrum methodology through the team members and the organization 

 

What you will bring to the table:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Software Development or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of Java app development experience
  • Experience with Maven tools and PostgreSQL databases
  • Experience with source control tools such as Git and Azure DevOps
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for this role
  • Experience with CAD engineering tools, W/H Design and Manufacturing is a plus
  • Previous work experience with Yazaki is a plus
