Location: Canton, MI, USA  





Provides human resources support services to the organization’s business units and functional groups, management and employees.  Communicates HR policies and procedures and provides consultation and support to employees and management on a broad range of complex employee issues including sexual harassment, workplace violence claims, and policy and procedural violations. Develops strategic employee relations initiatives, and prepares recommendations pertaining to Company-wide employee relations policy matters.  Partners with hiring managers to fill immediate vacancies.




  • Consults with management and provides daily HR guidance regarding the interpretation and application of policies and procedures to include Performance Improvement, FMLA, and separations, and recommending courses of action
  • Respond to and coordinates resolution of complex employee relations issues and address grievances
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention
  • Provides HR policy guidance
  • Works with Legal Department, and participates as appropriate, in investigations, including Department of Labor and EEO investigations; assists in the preparation of legal documentation and conducts associated interviews and investigations as required.
  • Provides coaching and counseling to management in order to facilitate Performance Management and the Performance Improvement Process within the BU/FG, to ensure consistency in the application and implementation of company policies and procedures.
  • Partners with BU/FG management and HR in identifying training needs; plans, develops, and delivers formal training to Company management and/or employees on a variety of labor relations, employee relations, and associated topics.
  • Researches, identifies, and interprets current and emerging employee relations issues, trends, and opportunities; develops and implements responsive Company-wide programs, initiatives, and communications.
  • Supports the Talent Acquisition team with job postings and recruiting activities, as needed.
  • Reviews and advises as appropriate on employee suspensions, demotions, layoffs, and discharges to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, policies, procedures, and acceptable management practices.
  • Develops and maintains HRIS databases and tracking systems; collects and analyzes data and prepares periodic and ad-hoc reports.
  • Responsible for full life-cycle recruitment activities including sourcing, screening/interviewing, and negotiating offers to fill immediate vacancies. 




Degree Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or related field

Certification Requirements:

PHR or SPHR certification helpful

Previous Experience:


3-5 years’ experience in an HR Generalist role; experience in full life-cycle recruitment

Travel Requirements:

< 25%


Proficiency in English; Spanish helpful


Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams), SuccessFactors HCM experience helpful
