  • Monitor and Track PPAP, SRV (Supplier Readiness Valve) Status and completion,
  • Obtain data, discuss timing, set priorities, and identify roadblocks with USCAR21 testing.  Define and track action items by program regarding required follow up on open combinations and failure analysis
  • Follow up with the Manufacturing plants to track the implementation of official standards & tooling into production, once USCAR21 testing is successfully completed;
  • Develop and execute Quality Assurance plan for new launches by working with the customer, and coordination with manufacturing affiliate
  • Review and roll out updated specification details

Reporting & Metrics

  • Provide monthly status report to the Management team (broken down by program – extension of the scorecard)
  • Support Program Coordination / MPR meetings (directly or indirectly through AMQE) to provide updates on the status of crimp validation activity
  • Coordinate the collection of the crimp process validation (Cpk study) summary report from Manufacturing. as the PPAP supporting documentation

Failure Analysis & Corrective Action Follow Up

  • Utilize AMCS to review test report data (identify failure issues / verify passing test results / check history on specific combinations)
  • Review test results on failures and compare to the USCAR21 criteria to confirm failures and highlight to the CoC group / program teams for resolution
  • Work with the CoC group to discuss failure criteria and recommended actions (document into the tracking metric)
  • Support the AMQE to compile the one pager report to obtain customer approval for deviations, and submit to Engineering for follow up with the customer
  • Support development of and implement a random inspection program to periodically pull harnesses from production inventory and submit test requests for re-verification of critical components (crimps, welds, torque, splices, etc.)

  • Recommend process improvement actions to solve crimping or other manufacturing issues

GPMS / Salesforce Support

  • During the Gate2 phase, work with the AMQEs and Manufacturing plants to document the manufacturing process and controls used for each combination
  • During Gate3 phase, ensure that the master crimp list is updated for each program/model year to track the completion of USCAR21 validation and that the list is maintained until balance out
  • As USCAR21 validations are completed, monitor that the Crimping Centers are submitting to CDC for registration into TCSS
