POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the Program Manager has total responsibility and accountability for meeting established program targets and deliverables. The Program Manager is responsible for successful completion of program objectives and for proposing strategic direction for program teams. Programs can typically consist of multiple vehicles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Program Budget. Participate in development of STF/LTF program budget. Responsible for delivering program at or under approved budget.
- GPMS Administration. Responsible to ensure that phase compliance and applicable documentation is accurate, complete and on time. Leads the project team in Executive Management Approval.
- Launch Readiness / Process Sign Off (PSO). Ensure all tasks are performed for launch readiness and PSO. Coordinate all customer visits to the manufacturing facilities. Ultimately responsible to assist in supplying requirements to Manufacturing and approving all resolutions to the follow-up issues that is presented to the customer.
- Customer Contact. Coordinate and lead for all customer-critical issues (day to day issues is handled by individual departments). Review requirements regularly with the customer to check on satisfaction levels/program metrics throughout the program.
- Program Scope. Coordinate, lead, and initiate approval of program scope changes and management of activities to executive management.
- Scheduling and Tracking. Coordinate, lead, and approve the program schedule and tracking process to ensure the program meets the scope and customer requirements, to meet overall program metrics. Review program timing and progress toward achievement of targets and goals. Coordinate and lead the critical build phases, while approving support activities to ensure successful delivery of the program. Prepare regular reports for presentation to executive management, which address program progress status.
- Customer Approval. Ensure Approval Request is submitted to the customer and approved prior to SOP.
- Tooling. Ensure that all program required tooling for purchased parts is completed on time and within budget. Monitor and ensure that payments are received from the customer after receiving Final Approval.
- Costing. Support and assist costing initiatives throughout the life of the program.
- Program Coordination Meeting. Schedule program coordination meetings regularly. Lead the cross-functional program coordination meeting. Review the meeting minutes to ensure timely completion of all tasks. “Prime” the meeting minutes/open issues/corrective actions system by entering initial program information into the system.
- Open Issues. Review and assign newly entered open issues. Update issues in central tracking system. Review issue statuses between program meetings. Approve all closed issues. Classify and archive closed and approved issues for continuous improvement. Review open issues database for continuous improvement. Address any scope, schedule, and budget changes to the program brought on by open issues.
- Engineering Change. Review and coordinate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and eventual Process Change Request (PCR) and communicate and coordinate changes with the customer, affiliate and team members.
- Risk Assessment. Coordinate the Risk Assessment Plan with the program team. Receive and review all recorded program risks. Allocate risk prevention and risk mitigation actions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Degree Requirements: |
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Management or related field; applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. |

Previous Experience: |
Minimum of five to six years of applicable experience in manufacturing, engineering, sales, or related fields. |
Travel Requirements: |
Ability to travel to customer and internal facilities located within USA, Mexico and Asia |
On Call Requirements: |
Ability to be on call during customer production hours |
