Yazaki is looking for Learning & Instructional Design Specialist to join our Talent Management/HR team in Canton, MIThe ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization. 

 

We are seeking a highly motivated Learning & Instructional Design Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing the competencies & skills of our employees by developing and delivering training programs that align with our company’s core values. You will be responsible for conducting training needs assessments, designing engaging & innovative curriculum and learning materials, and overseeing all aspects of training interventions.

 

Your primary objective will be to boost workplace performance and drive professional growth within our organization. As an Learning & Instructional Design Specialist, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to identify training gaps and develop targeted solutions to address them. You will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and making necessary adjustments to ensure continuous improvement.

 

What you will be doing:

 

  • Assess training & development needs with multiple stakeholders (business units and functional groups)
      • Identify training & development needs
      • Translate requirements into learning & development strategies 
      • Define a plan of action with training programs to be implemented
      • Implement & follow up according to plan 
  • Build annual training program
  • Design and deliver corporate training programs: Facilitate training sessions, whether in-person or online to ensure effective learning & skills development
  • Learning Management System (LMS) Administration
    • Manage and update the records related to the training process in the LMS module
    • Develop strategies for deploying learning resources
      • Define the type of resource to be developed and prepare what is needed to deploy to the target audience
      • Prepare the necessary information to deploy (communication, reports, learning need, etc)
    • LMS Management
      • Configure the creation of new plants in LMS (plant/location/conference room registration, instructor registration, new MU/SU training)
      • Participate in LMS releases to implement system improvements
      • Coordinate the implementation of improvements and/or updates as a team with IT
  • Support IATF and other audits, as well as legal requirements
    • Respond to audits for the YNA audience
    • Provide support to other locations within YNCA for the Competence section (support in responding to applicable clauses, system support, root cause identification).
  • Ensure compliance with training legal requirements in USA and Canada
  • Instructional design and support to develop custom training programs and materials (QRG, handouts, manuals, infographics, videos) 
  • Evaluate training effectiveness: measuring the impact of training programs to ensure they meet organizational goals
  • Ensure and report the necessary information on learning & development metrics (monthly training KPI, development plans).
  • Stay up to date of the new trends and tools in employee learning & development

 

 

What you will bring to the table:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Education, Instructional/Organizational Design, or related field
  • Certification in instruction or facilitation
  • Required: 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in a corporate environment
  • Proven experience in designing multiple training events in a corporate setting
  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles
  • Proven ability to master the full training cycle
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management software, preferably Success Factors
  • Familiarity with modern innovative training methods, tools and techniques
  • Ability to conduct cost-benefit analysis and calculate training ROI
  • Sound decision making and organizational skills
