What we are looking for:

Yazaki is looking for a motivated Summer Intern to join our GMBU Engineering team in Canton, MI.  The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, results-oriented environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization. This internship runs full-time from May 12, 2025, to August 15, 2025.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Project Work: Support Profit improvement activities for engineering:   
    • Manage the terminal commonization project.  Same terminal usage for like applications based on profitability.
    • Follow-up / assist engineers with Profit Improvement activities.  Support implementation of PI ideas and follow-up documentation
  • Success Metrics: Reduction of terminal types for similar applications which would increase profitability and manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with GMBU Design Release Engineers (in Canton and Mexico), Yazaki’s Data Management Organization, and Purchasing Department.

 

What you will bring to the table:

  • Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
  • Relevant Background: Degree/experience related to the position (e.g., [Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
  • Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Commitment: Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May 12, 2025, and August 15, 2025
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret industry drawings and specification.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
