What we are looking for:
Yazaki is looking for a motivated Summer Intern to join our Testing Center team in Canton, Mi. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, purposeful environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization. This internship runs full-time from May 2026, to August 2026.
What you will be doing:
- Project Work: Participate in vehicle component testing following U.S. Car specifications in an accredited ISO:17025 laboratory.
- Success Metrics: Demonstrate the ability to conduct a laboratory test resulting in an approved test report delivered to the requested engineering department.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Requesting engineers and OEM’s, cross-functional teams, senior engineers, or project managers.
What will you bring to the table:
- Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
- Relevant Background: Degree/experience related to the position (Electrical & Mechanical engineering, Applied Technology considered.)
- Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Commitment: Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May, 2026, and August, 2026
- Technical Skills: Ability to work with common hand tools and an aptitude for assembly and disassembly of automotive components. Desire to work in a lab environment that can be loud and dirty at times. Safety is a primary focus in this position and requires training before conducting tests.
