What we are looking for:

Yazaki is looking for a motivated Summer Intern to join our BU Finance team in Canton/MI.  The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, results-oriented environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization. This internship runs full-time from May 11, 2026 to August 15, 2026.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Project Work: Bring creativity and new ways of thinking into Financial Planning and Analysis department with a focus on developing improvements to our forecasting and analysis tools to help the team improve efficiency and automation in everyday work. Specific projects will include helping to develop improvements to the rolling forecast process, develop new reports to aid in automation of volume, price, and mix variance analysis. An intern will participate in meetings with key stakeholders and obtain firsthand experience of collaborating with business units in an FP&A accounting team.
  • Success Metrics: Display a willingness to learn. Learn from mistakes and contribute new ideas for efficiency and automation in daily finance activities. Participate actively in meetings and training sessions. Be willing to speak up asking questions and sharing ideas. Complete projects related to efficiency and automation improvements in the forecasting and analysis.

 

What you will bring to the table:

  • Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
  • Relevant Background: Experience and / or pursuit of a degree with a Major in accounting and finance, accounting information systems, or data analytics.
  • Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Commitment: Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May 11, 2026, and August 14, 2026
  • Technical Skills:  Microsoft Excel, Power Query/Power BI Skills, Python or SQL
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
