What we are looking for:
Yazaki is looking for a motivated General Engineer to join our Ford Business Unit Engineering team in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, results-oriented environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization. This internship runs full-time from May 11, 2026 to August 14, 2026.
What you will be doing:
- Project Work:
- Support creating FBU Engineering training material focus on current processes
- Support TVM activities and follow-up
- Support P758 engineering tasks like special mock-up’s with customers, validations, reworks and Component registration for current and future programs
- Managing processes and procedures related with FBU Engineering FSS 2.0, drafting process flow based on current and future processes. Support initiatives related with Engineering processes that need to be drafted which includes Capital Logic and Integrator process communization across FBU
- Success Metrics: Training materials, Skill matrix, Wire Harness drawing checks, processes and procedures
- Collaboration: Work closely with FBU Engineering Supervisors and Principal engineers.
What you will bring to the table:
- Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
- Relevant Background: Degree/experience related to the position (e.g., Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical/electrical/industrial engineering or related field. Enrolled in 4-year degree program).
- Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Commitment: Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May 11, 2026, and August 14, 2026
- Technical Skills:
- Strong communication and writing skills. Problem solving skills, analytical skills. Ability to identify and assess problems. Experience using Microsoft Visio or any program to create Process diagrams
- Preferred but not required: Previous experience in Writing Methods, Work Instructions or Processes
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
