What we are looking for:

Yazaki is looking for a motivated Summer Intern to join our FBU Engineering team in Canton, MI.  The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, results-oriented environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization. This internship runs full-time from May 12, 2025 to August 15, 2025.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Project Work
    • Create process flow and work instructions for current FSS 2.0 based on current and future processes. In order to help engineering team to perform correctly their job and avoid Design errors
    • Update/create work instructions for new processes related with Toolset implementation ( specific to FBU FSS 2.0)
    • Support to align Skill matrix with Training specific for FBU Engineering and support P800 engineering tasks

 

  • Success Metrics: Training materials, Skill matrix, Wire Harness drawing checks, processes and procedures
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Wire Harness engineers, EDS Supervisors, Managers and Customer engineering team.

 

What you will bring to the table:

  • Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
  • Relevant Background:  Pursing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics engineering or related field.
  • Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Commitment: Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May 12, 2025, and August 15, 2025
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong communication and written skills. Problem solving skills, analytical skills. Ability to identify and assess problems. Experience using Microsoft Visio or any program to create Process diagrams
    • Preferred but not required: Previous experience in Writing Methods, Work Instructions or Processes
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
