What we are looking for:
Yazaki is excited to welcome a driven and resourceful Summer Intern to our Core Engineering Research team based in Canton, MI. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a team-oriented, results-focused environment and is passionate about making a meaningful impact. This full-time internship will run from May 12, 2025, through August 15, 2025.
As a member of Yazaki’s Core Engineering Research team, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your engineering design and programming skills in real-world scenarios. We’re seeking interns who have completed relevant coursework or projects and are enthusiastic about learning more about automotive electronics and sensors. Your work will center on solving complex problems and exploring innovative ideas for new products, methods, and markets, all within a collaborative and supportive environment.
What you will be doing:
- Start with Given a research prompt
- Understand and define the challenge and work together with a team on possible solutions
- Evaluate and select a technical direction then develop a physical prototype
What you will bring to the table:
- Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
- Relevant Background: Pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, software engineering, or computer science.
- Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Commitment: Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May 12, 2025, and August 15, 2025
- Technical Skills: Bonus points for involvement in a hobby or engineering club where you design and build something
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
