Please note definition differences between Intern and Co-op:

Intern:  Student works full-time during the summer

Co-op:  Student works part-time while school is in session. Student may work more hours during the summer if not enrolled in classes. Students may work for a minimum of one semester or longer.

 

Both positions are paid according to current academic standing and job classification.

What we are looking for:

Yazaki is looking for a motivated Summer Intern to join our Communications team in Canton, MI.  The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, results-oriented environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization. This internship runs full-time from May 12, 2025, to August 15, 2025.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Project Work: The Communications team is implementing a new “internal communications platform.” In addition to helping the team build this platform from the group-up, this individual will also help to coordinate an array of communications, marketing, and media activities.
  • Success Metrics: This individual will help the Yazaki Corporate Communications team build and launch a new communications platform aims to boost engagement, effectiveness, and efficiency across the board.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Yazaki Corporate Communications team in charge of producing and distributing all internal and external communications for Yazaki in North and Central America.
  • Content Management Systems (CMS) Coordination: Internal Communications
    • Assist in data management regarding our Internal Communications Platform
    • Collaborate with the Corporate Communications team to develop content
    • Coordinate with other departments to implement the Internal Communications Platform across all YNCA

General Marketing Tasks:

    • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities.
    • Assist in the creation of marketing materials such as brochures, newsletters, and email campaigns.
    • Support the planning and execution of marketing events and campaigns.
    • Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the marketing team.

Social Media Coordination:

    • Assist in scheduling, and publishing content across various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn).
    • Assist in monitoring our social media platforms
    • Analyze social media metrics and provide insights to improve engagement and reach
    • Help to coordinate social media efforts across YNCA

What you will bring to the table:

  • Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
  • Relevant Background: Degree/experience related to the position (e.g., Communications, Marketing, or Business).
  • Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Commitment: Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May 12, 2025, and August 15, 2025
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. Adobe Creative Suite a plus, but not necessary. Experience with Content Management System (CMS) a plus, but not necessary.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
