Please note definition differences between Intern and Co-op
Intern:  Student works full-time during the summer
Co-op:  Student works part-time while school is in session. Student may work more hours during the summer if not enrolled in classes. Students may work for a minimum of one semester or longer.

Both positions are paid according to current academic standing and job classification.

POSITION SUMMARY

 

This position will be responsible for supporting IT, Security and the Business with researching Yazaki parts and information on various sites online. In this role, you will provide reports and data on a routine basis and as needed related to Yazaki’s web presence. In this role, you will learn about Yazaki’s cyber security practices, research best practices and present recommendations to the leadership team.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Research Yazaki parts and presence online including social media pages, possible impersonation of Yazaki employees particularly C-levels, or information that may influence reputation of the company.
  • Recognizes problems by identifying abnormalities; reporting violations.
  • Provides reports on a routine and ad hoc basis.
  • Assist with safeguarding information system assets by identifying and facilitating in solving potential and actual security problems.
  • Assist with protecting system by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
  • Assist with Implementing security improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Determines security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits as assigned.
  • Upgrades system by implementing and maintaining security controls as assigned.
  • Assists with keeping users informed by preparing performance reports; communicating system status.
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by pursing bachelor’s degree, attending educational workshops and reviewing publications.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Degree Requirements:

Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity.

Previous Experience:

 

Understanding of information risk concepts and principles, as a means of relating business needs to security controls.  Knowledge with common information security management frameworks, such as [International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 2700x and the ITIL, COBIT and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)] frameworks.  Experience in developing, documenting and maintaining security policies, processes, procedures and standards.

As required off hours via cell phone/meetings before and after normal working hours
