What we are looking for:
YII is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team based out of Canton, MI or Plano, TX to lead our talented engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hardware and software development, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for innovation. As an Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in guiding our projects from concept to completion, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
What you will be doing:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Oversee the design, development, and testing of hardware and software products for automotive, agriculture, and construction applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and sales, to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes and practices.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our products remain competitive.
- Manage resource allocation, project timelines, and budgets effectively.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team as needed.
What you will bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in a leadership role within an engineering team.
- Strong knowledge of hardware and software development processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the automotive, agriculture, or construction industries is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a People Manager.
- Preferred 7 plus years of experience
