Position Summary

Data Scientist will support the development and implementation of reports and data analytics for multiple applications and business systems.  This position will interact with business partners, application development, and software vendors to test, support, improve, sunset data analytics and reports through their lifecycle and will represent direct purchasing to other departments ensuring the best decisions to support purchasing will continue unimpeded from technical issues or recommended changes. 

Ensure that all purchasing systems are functioning optimally.  Investigate any issues impacting said purchasing systems by either resolving them internally or interfacing with other appropriate teams.

Designs, implements, improves, migrates, and administers purchasing systems & technologies to accomplish reporting and data analytics goals and objectives. Responsible for purchasing customer service resolution for all business impacted and system-related issues.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend and act as Purchasing lead on system and reporting impacts and decisions for any software or reporting tool upgrades/changes.
  • Purchasing contact and subject matter expert for reporting and data sources for direct purchasing for YNCA
  • Administrations, maintains, improves, and monitors the data sources/reporting tools used by direct purchasing.
  • Proactive development of preventative maintenance that reduces down-time of critical purchasing impacted data/systems
  • Defines, creates, and reviews meaningful metrics, including performance, capacity, and planning
  • Provides technical expertise to resolve complex problems (tracing and diagnosis)
  • Interfaces with IT department globally to resolve issues and submit beneficial software change requests
  • Provides feedback to requestors/users on potential issues and work to create solutions
  • Plans, conducts, communicates, and validates data, systems and tools as they impact or improve direct purchasing.
  • Designs and implements solutions impacting direct purchasing and promotes them globally to purchasing or IT stakeholders
  • Works as the business to IT liaison to enable holistic acceptance testing and solutions

This position is focused on purchasing impacted systems and applications within the business and IT.

Education

Degree Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Related Technology fields, or equivalent experience

Certification Requirements:

N/A mandatory

Windows/VB/SQL Administration Certification would be a plus

Previous Experience:

Experience in IT systems administration and/or software implementation and support

Travel Requirements:

As required; 5-10% International possible

As required
