What we are looking for:

 

Yazaki is looking for a Customs Specialist to join our Supply Chain and Logistics Team in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization. 

 

What you will be doing:

 

This position requires overall understanding of YNA’s supply chain and Customs (import/export) processes and logistics supply chain.  This position requires strong problem-solving, investigation and analysis type skills as well as the ability to demonstrate management/leadership skills.  This position will work with Trade Programs, Entry Operations, Material planning, Export Operations, Transportation team members, Material Planning and Post Entry type functions.  This position also provides support and assist within the department as required.

 

What you will bring to the table:

  • Responsible to develop, implement, maintain and recover as much duty as possible via Duty Drawback program. When necessary, identify areas of opportunity and improve the duty drawback program.
  • Work with Duty Drawback consultants as well as with YNCA customs brokers and YNCA customs team members to understand and obtain information to support duty drawback claims.
  • Maintain monthly metrics for management reporting
    • Import Duty Rolling Forecast
    • Customs Financial Analysis
    • Monthly MOR metrics
  • Back-up and audit function for USMCA Averaging calculations
  • Maintain data into various YNA systems (TR/IP, BEAMS, internal DBs, Eclipse.)
  • Maintain work instructions
  • Support on YNA Customs Compliance Program
  • Support on Duty Avoidance and/or Duty Recovery initiatives
  • Assist (as required) to complete various projects or any other assigned task
