What we are looking for:
Yazaki is looking for a motivated Co-op join our Direct Purchasing team in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, results-oriented environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization.
What you will be doing:
- Daily Tasks: Supporting Direct Purchasing Buyers and Management with key projects, reporting, daily tasks to build knowledge in Direct Purchasing and Supply Chain, and support Direct Purchasing towards achievement of overall Purchasing Goals
- Success Metrics: Individual success will be measured by successful launch of developed process(es), implementation of project or cost savings idea(s), and measurable support towards team goals (savings target, commercial improvements, etc.)
- Collaboration: Work closely with Purchasing teams (Buyers, Advanced Purchasing, Data Management) to support in Daily tasks, Global Purchasing meetings, Supplier Negotiations (prep, analysis), Cost Savings brainstorming, Bill of Material breakdown, and other purchasing tasks.
What you will bring to the table:
- Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
- Relevant Background: Degree/experience related to the position (e.g., [Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics]).
- Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Commitment: Availability to work 2-3 days a week (during school year) and 5 days during the summer.
- Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft skills (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.). Strong Drive to learn (may need to reach out to Subject Matter Experts to obtain broad knowledge to support project or activity), and ability to pick up concepts quickly.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
