POSITION SUMMARY |
Manage shipments meeting customer requirements through demand analysis, coordination of order preparation, continual monitoring of on time delivery to customer.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Manage customer demand and on time delivery
- Analyze demand and inventory levels and create internal orders in SAP
- Issue orders to the warehouse floor with adequate preparation time to meeting customer due date and window times
- Meet 100% delivery to the customer: customer coverage with input from customer portals and emails and initiating management-approved premium freight if essential
- Transmits and Monitors ASN’s for errors and accuracy
- Monitors daily and monthly customer delivery ratings (reporting to core group as designated) and dispute as necessary
- Reconciles shipment access and related discrepancies (DMR, RDR, RMO)
- Ensures current Customers specific requirements such as labeling, packaging, routing, window times, and EDI specs are communicated
- Coordinate and follow up on incoming shipments with internal departments
- Analyze and report delivery performance
- Manage Premium Freight Order
- Utilize appropriate processes and systems to log and order premium freight
- Coordinate transportation requirements between multiple Yazaki groups and the customer
- Determine cost responsibility based on input from Internal and external customers
- Manage Obsolescence / Balance Out
- Follow FIFO on order creation considering part design level
- Keep warehouse on-point by following internal processes of design levels, quantities as customer demand changes
- Confirm cost responsibility based on input from internal customers in regard to agreements or negotiations with manufacturing or the customer
- Complete customer claims audits and scrap quickly to minimize obsolescence and carrying costs
- Act as the liaison for both the customer and production control
- Ensure timely responses to their communication
- Assist customer with delivery issues
- Support engineering changes with production control and the customer
- Inform and update customers and portals on delivery timing based on input from internal departments
- Manage part registration in applicable system ensuring the system is ready to issue orders to the warehouse with correct system information to correctly transmit ASN’s to the customer
- Manage late requests from the customer
- Participate in customer and internal meetings
- Utilize and update customer systems as necessary
- Complete required reports and metrics
- Understand when escalation is required and appropriately initiate it
- May support specific prototype / preproduction meetings (e.g. component procurement / shortage and Supplier Readiness)
- May coordinate shipment timing and special requirements with transportation for incoming and outgoing shipments
- Analyze customer orders in applicable system as necessary
- Support long-range and short-term group forecasts, goals, objectives, and priorities
- Support other projects, tasks, and/or duties as assigned
- Mentor and train analyst as required
- Aid other carlines
- Represents the Distribution department during meetings and projects
- Supports health and safety policies
REQUIREMENTS |
Degree Requirements: |
Bachelors in business administration or Supply Chain Management, or related field or equivalent experience preferred |
Certification Requirements: |

Previous Experience:
|
Required minimum years of experience in Supply Chain or related field
|
Preferred years of experience in Supply chain and project management or related field
|

Travel Requirements: |
Both domestic and international travel could be required between Yazaki facilities and to customer and manufacturing sites |
Language: |
English is required and Spanish is required if directly interacts with customers in Mexico. |
Software: |
SAP, Success Factors and Microsoft |
On Call Requirements: |
During customer production hours including overtime, weekend hours and holidays. Extended work hours occasionally required to meet with parties in different time zones. |
