What we are looking for:

 

Yazaki is looking for an Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Purchasing team in Canton, MI.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization.  This position is hybrid.

 

What you will be doing:

 

  • Manage all Yazaki North America designed components from kickoff to launch, including obtaining all necessary program information, conducting coordination meetings, project reviews, risk assessments, tool progress reviews, Process Sign-Off (PSO), and PPAP approval, coordinating design reviews, ensuring all data sources are updated with current information, managing, and developing relationships with suppliers, and conducting hand off meetings after PPAP.
  • Manage all external advanced supplier quality activities for launching BU programs, including Global Program Management Systems (GPMS) tasks (missing PPAP status, risk assessments, APQP and tool updates, etc.)
  • Support the New Supplier Form (NSF) process by conducting document and data reviews and, when necessary, conducting onsite assessments for new suppliers.
  • Manage updates to the Supplier Manual content.
  • Support any Supplier Change Request (SCR) tasks.
  • Manage the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Supplier of the Year program.
  • Interface with internal customers regarding ASQE activities.
  • Support and implement all applicable Supplier Quality Development (SQD) processes, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Prepare, update, and communicate required presentations, data, issue status, and reports.

 

What you will bring to the table:

 

  • Technical degree (Engineering, preferred) or equivalent related experience
  • 4 to 6 years of manufacturing and/or quality experience
  • Travel: domestic and international, as required
  • Ability to resolve issues by applying creative thinking
  • Ability to think and act logically under pressure
  • Ability to resolve issues or propose resolutions to responsible parties
  • Must work independently and collaboratively
