What we are looking for:
YII is looking for an Account Manager/Business Development to join our Venture Scouting team based out of Plano, Texas. This is a hybrid work environment.
Under the direction of the Director of Program Management, the Account Manager/Business Development role is to develop new business opportunities for Yazaki Innovations new residential wiring commodity and define the go to market strategy, including 4P’s (product, place, promotion, price) definition for these opportunities. The role will also lead commercial activities with industry partners and work to increase revenue opportunities with positive EBIT results. The individual will serve as the central point of contact for commercial and strategic issues with customers and be the primary evangelist for YII’s new business. The position entails interfacing with VSG Program Managers, YII Product Development, and YNCA functional groups and business units, as well as with external customers and industry partners.
In this role, you will be expected to achieve significant outcomes in your first 12 months, driving our business growth and expanding our market presence.
Desired Outcomes in the First 12 Months:
- Confirmed Revenue Plans: Establish and confirm revenue plans of at least $5M, setting a strong foundation for our financial targets.
- Revenue Growth: Drive increased year-over-year revenue, achieving a minimum of 10% annual growth rates.
- Profitability Targets: Attain an EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes) target of 10% on new business ventures.
- New Customer Acquisition: Secure 5 new customer accounts for our existing products, expanding our market reach.
- New Product Development: Successfully secure 1 new customer account for a newly developed product, contributing to our innovation pipeline.
What you will be doing:
Primary:
- Account Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers and start-up partners. Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize win-win relationships with start-ups. Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Sales Management: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to maximize relationships and revenue with existing and new customers. Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
- Business Development: Identify and initiate new business opportunities with existing industry partners. Find potential new customers, introduce them to YII’s new residential wiring business and work on plans to secure business. Expand product offerings to existing customers and strategic partners.
- Business Plan Creation: Create a ‘Business Plan’ that contains the elements that make up the core structure of the business model. The business plan would not only provide clarity on the focused product/services to be provided as part of the business, but also define the business model that makes the business operate in a sustainable fashion. Financial calculations are required to demonstrate the potential return-on-investment (ROI) for the project and positive EBIT for production sales.
Secondary:
- Project Management: Create a project plan that meets the requirements of the short/long-term business strategy. Develop a work breakdown structure by reverse-engineering tasks from the target state and defining tasks that are assignable to a cross-functional team. Manage the project plan to ensure milestones are achieved and projects are delivered on time.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support in new business development or sales opportunities. Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews. Work closely with the Finance/Accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Project Support: Serve as the central point of contact for commercial and strategic business issues.
- Process Documentation: Follow the specified departmental process for project execution. Provide ‘lessons learned’ and process improvements to continuously improve the process. When necessary, create new processes to help direct activities.
- Trade Shows: Support trade shows to market YII’s new residential wiring commodity. Some shows include: CES (Consumer Electronics Show) and IBS (International Builders Show)
What you will bring to the table:
- BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or similar field. Applicable industry experience may be considered in lieu of or in addition to a degree
- Minimum of 5 years account manager experience in residential home building market or electrical sub-contracting industry.
- Demonstrated account manager success in the industry
- Foreign and domestic travel required up to 20%
