What we are looking for:

Yazaki is looking for a Senior Business Development Specialist to join our  Energy Systems team in Dallas, TX.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization.  Hybrid work model is available.


What you will be doing:

  • Market Analysis: Investigate the social and economic environment of the targeted markets and select the customer segment that would be best suited for market entry.
  • Marketing: Creation of the 4P “Product”, “Price”, “Place”, “Promotion” of marketing that would address the “job to be done” based on clarification of the NABC “Need”, “Approach”, “Benefit”, “Competition” to justify the proposed marketing plan.
  • Solution Creation: Leading “Design Thinking” workshops with internal and external stakeholders to define the product/service solution and the business model (using Business Model Canvas) that would be feasible to implement in the targeted market.
  • Business Development: Creating business opportunities around Yazaki (and supplier’s) internal corporate “pain point” that would lead to new business opportunities that address external industry issues, based on an existing startup company’s business solution.
  • Cross functional team management: Negotiating with a cross functional team by creating meaning and purpose to the task. Ensuring that the team members deliver on the assigned tasks and remove any roadblocks that the project member would have.
  • Business plan creation: Creating a “Business Plan” that contains the elements that make up the core structure of the business model. Business plan would not only provide clarity to the focus product / services that would be manufactured as part of the business, but also define the business model that makes the business operate in a sustainable fashion.  
  • Financial model creation: Creating a sales and expense plan that would represent the intended new business and generate a financial model that would indicate the necessary funding.


What you will bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration or Economics, Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science / Software Development
  • Minimum 5 years of Sales or Costing activity experience
  • Experience performing market analysis or marketing expertise
  • Prior experience in new business creation and new product development functions preferred
  • Skills to lead “design thinking” activities and skills to effectively moderate idea generation forums
  • Previous work experience with Yazaki is a plus
