POSITION SUMMARY

This position within the Components Business Unit (ComBU) is responsible for coordinating confidential cost and price administration activities. Individual must exhibit professional communication skills as they will routinely interact with other internal departments, external affiliates and external customers. Position requires analytical skills to assess pricing issues, to pick up on patterns for repeat problems and propose how to address them.  Generates periodic reports and presentation materials related to revenue / profit impacts, trends, and product differentiation.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Manage confidential pricing records contained in the ComBU price book in Yazaki preferred system.
  • Review and approve all new sales prices created by the sales coordinators.
  • Coordinate mass re-quotations for periodic price changes.
  • Lead contact to other Business Units and Functional Groups for cost/price inquires on Yazaki product maintained in the Yazaki preferred system.
  • Validate sales quotations for accuracy and profitability.
  • Lead the resolution process for all internal pricing discrepancies with our financial groups.
  • Responsible for Source Change information management between component affiliates and external customers.
  • Conduct queries in the Yazaki systems to gather data for reports on shipping, quotations, pricing and any other format requested.
  • Analyze data collected to assist/contribute to the strategic decision-making process.
  • Obtain internal pricing for new customer quotes.
  • Support Manufacturing and Distribution sites with data collection and analysis to avoid or minimize extraordinary expenses.
  • Support Sales Management with WWS (World Wide Strategy) activities for ComBU.
  • Take initiative in identifying and resolving issues around pricing and margin.
  • Collect, analyze and summarize data from YNA (Yazaki North America) systems to serve as input into the creation of presentation materials for the sales team.
  • Support other Business Units to establish external sales pricing levels on components that migrate from being PIA to Yazaki wire harness assemblies or end items to the OEM.
  • Understand market and industry trends and competitor profiles.
  • Support special projects within the sales organization as requested by sales management, capacity planning initiatives, and provide analysis to contribute to ComBU Profit Improvement Initiative.
  • Receive, log and distribute 1098 memos to appropriate Account Manager for review and coding.  Obtain memo signatures, track and report out open amounts vs. collected.
  • Research parts that shipped without pricing to provide Sales Prices to Finance and update system.
  • Enter Purchase Requisitions into SAP.
  • Act as the SAP Super User for pricing management.
  • Act as the ComBU Compliance Liaison by supporting meetings and provide feedback back into ComBU Organization.
  • Provide guidance to the Sales Account Administration in the absence of direct management.

Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work experience.

Previous Experience:

 

Required: specialized skills normally associated with three or more years of experience in Tier 1 automotive component sales & pricing.

Required: and understand of exchange rate fluctuations impacts and precious metal adjustment methods.
